Deus Ex
Deus Ex is a futuristic style first person shooter with a very heavy and healthy stealth mechanic. Playing the game is much like playing one of Clancy’s Splinter Cell titles. The inventory system seems to be ripped straight from Resident Evil and works well 90% of the time.
Though combat is mostly done in the 1st person perspective when one grabs cover it changes to a 3rd person so that the user can monitor the actions of an enemy or target. The scenery is of a society in mid revolution as you walk into to protests as the story continues. The cinematic scenes in this game are unbelievable and are some of the best the Xbox has to offer. But this game has some minor and humorous ticks that shouldn't be present.
Though the cinematics are great, the in game cut scenes make it seem as if the DNA of birds has been introduced to humans due to the fact that every character twitches their head in an almost uncontrollable attempt to display emotion.
But the icing on the preverbal cake is the jumping dynamic. In the future humans have been given the ability to have cybernetic functions from increased speed to super human strength. But the combination of the jumping dynamic, the game’s physics engine, and the “heavy” cybernetic limbs apparently break the laws of physics. For example if one were to try and jump over a small gap without upgrading your legs to jump a tad bit higher then they will hit terminal velocity in the crest (top) of the jump. This often leads to you plummeting to the earth and dying because jumping over a 3-foot gap has been made impossible.
